Plans Examiner (2 Vacancies)

Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in civil, structural or architectural engineering or a field related to the work.
• Two years of experience in Structural Engineering Design; or two years’ experience as a Plans Examiner; or two years’ experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations.
• Equivalency: Four years of experience as a Plans Examiner or four years’ experience in Architectural Design with exposure to building codes and regulations or five years’ experience in Engineering Structural Design may be substituted for the education and experience required above.

• International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner certification within one year of hire or promotion.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.

Reviews plans, specifications, and structural calculations for new construction, addition, and alteration or modification of commercial, industrial, residential, and auxiliary structures for compliance with the requirements of the adopted codes, municipal code, state, and federal regulations
