Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Civil Engineering; and ten (10) years progressively responsible civil engineering experience including five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Graduate degree may be substituted for three (3) years of experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License.
  • Must be a Registered Professional Engineer.

Job Description

Under general direction, is responsible for work of considerable difficulty in the designing, planning and supervision of City maintenance and construction, such as storm drains and structures, roads, sanitary sewer and water lines; advises City officials on technical engineering problems.

Good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations dealing with construction within the City. Ability to plan for and evaluate results of contracted construction of roads and other public works.
