- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Position Summary
This civilian position involves protecting persons and property from stray, wild and dangerous animals by responding to calls for service, securing animals, enforcing ordinances and resolving issues involving violations and complaints.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to and investigates complaints and reported bite cases involving stray, wild or unrestrained animals; captures and impounds animals as necessary and identifies/contacts owners; talks to owners and attempts to resolve problems; issues citations if necessary; prepares reports.
- Euthanizes injured or sick animals and disposes of carcasses.
- Picks up and disposes of dead animals from citizens and streets.
- Conducts general vehicular patrol of the City for animal control purposes
- Educates the public about responsible animal care.
- Drives City-owned vehicle to perform essential functions of position.
