Firefighter I/Trainee

High school diploma or equivalent.

To participate in classroom and practical training in the performance of a wide variety of technical tasks in support of the fire prevention and suppression, medical emergency and hazardous materials handling functions, to learn the operation and maintenance of a variety of fire and rescue apparatus and equipment, and to participate in prevention and station and equipment maintenance activities.

Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Attend classroom and practical training in the performance of a variety of duties relating to fire prevention and suppression under immediate supervision by supervisory and field training staff.
